One in a Million

She was so good, but I was scared
That nothing ever lasts for long
They say it's better to have loved and lost
But I couldn't bear to lose it all
So back and forth, I dragged it on
And she didn't know what was wrong
And it wasn't that obvious to me

No, I didn't want to get to close
But still I didn't want to let her go
It seems we always end up hurting in the end
But then I threw all caution to the wind
And I opened up and let her in
And now she's got me high as the ceiling
Cuz she's one in a million

It felt so good to hold her close
Like it was almost worth the risk
Sometimes it's better to leave it alone
But I couldn't at a time like this
And she grabbed my hand and pulled me through
Though I didn't expect her to
Why wasn't it obvious to me?

No, I didn't want to get to close
But still I didn't want to let her go
It seems we always end up hurting in the end
But then I threw all caution to the wind
And I opened up and let her in
And now she's got me high as the ceiling
Cuz she's one in a million

And like a soldier she held strong
And swore she'd never run away
Though she could have come and gone
No, she stayed

No, I didn't want to get too close
But still I didn't want to let her go
It seems we always end up leaving in the end
But then I stopped looking for a sign
And I took that girl and made her mine
And now she's got me high as the ceiling
Cuz she's one in a million
