Too School for Cool

Ok so I'm not really too cool for school. In fact, I'm loving school right now and I'm hoping I feel the same at the end of the semester! I'm so excited for all my classes and I feel like this semester is going to be a great one! I think I've finally found what I'm interested in and let's hope that it sticks. I'm taking a Human Development class and I think it is going to be one of the best classes I've ever taken. The teacher loves what he's teaching and I know that it's going to be great. Plus I've heard great things about him and the class, so I'm going into it with high hopes and expectations. From what it seems right now, most of my classes are going to overlap in content and it's good when that happens because remembering facts is so much easier. It's going to be so great!! I'm also working this semester and hopefully that goes good. Things have changed a bit around there so it's going to take some getting used to but it will be just fine once everything is figured out.

One thing that I also have high hopes for is my ward. From what it seems in the past 5 days I've been in it, the people are just so great! Also, I've been blessed with awesome roommates! They are all so great! Everyone that I've met so far is super nice and down to earth. None of the "I'm better than you" feelings that I've gotten in previous wards. Everyone is so welcoming and is looking to become friends with everyone. Our bishop talked to us at ward prayer on Sunday and said that our ward is our family away from home and these people really take that to heart. We've already been invited to do stuff with the ward and it's just so fun to feel like we belong. I know that this year is going to be so great but I have to put in my effort to make it great. I can't wait for what more is to come!

It's Been a While

Well it's been a while since I've last blogged. I know, I know I'm a slacker and half but I'm ready to change! Summer has been a crazy mess of things and I've been super, crazy busy with things! I can't believe that it's all coming to an end in 3 short days. I'm feeling bitter sweet about it all because I love being down at school and having a super fun social life but at the same time, I love my job here and I'm going to miss it regardless of how much I hated it some days. I've just learned so much about everything this Summer and I know that I came home to be able to learn all that I have. Here are some highlights:

1. Fourth of July at Bear Lake: It's a tradition in my family to go to Bear Lake for the 4th. At the resort we stay at, they have lots of things going on that day and we tend to do quite well in winning those. We've won the sand sculpting competitions, volleyball, and this year we won the sidewalk chalk drawing competition thanks to M's mother who is an amazing artist! Thanks K!

2. Girls trip to ST. GEORGE!: ok so this was so much fun! It was a much needed trip and I couldn't have asked for a better time! 3 days of laying out in the sun, shopping and pedicures and not to mention TONS of eating. It was so much fun to spend time with my girls K, M, and J. Here are some crazy pics from the week:

3. Birthday at Bear Lake: Every year we do a big family trip to Bear Lake with my mom's side of the family. 50+ people, 4 condos, 2 boats, and it might be chaotic but it's tons of fun. It always happens to fall on my birthday every year so I get to spend my day with the people I love. It was such a great day! I basically spent my whole day on the boat but it was exactly what I would've wanted anyway. One exciting thing that happened is that I got up on one ski! It was my first time actually staying up for longer than 2 seconds! So exciting! Hopefully pictures will come later of that trip.

4. Working at my job: I know I've already posted about my job but it has been one of the best experiences I've had. I've done so much with those kids and we've definitely had some not so good times but it's been an adventure, one I'll never forget.

I can't wait to see what this new school year will bring! Hopefully it will be just as good as my summer has been!
